Yoga is a discipline based on integration of mind, body, and spirit. Its blend of breathing, meditation, and movement results in an overall sense of relaxation and well-being. Research shows that yoga supports improvement in mobility, balance, strength, range of motion, flexibility, fear of falling, depression, and sleep. It contributes to promoting consciousness of movement which is particularly beneficial since automatic motions and spontaneous movement are affected by PD.

HAPS offers yoga classes which focus on utilizing breathing techniques with controlled movements to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

Yoga classes are offered virtually and in-person. If you are interested in participating in a HAPS yoga class, contact Angelica Rodriguez at 713.313.1652 or visit our online calendar.
