Communication is a critical part of everyday life. Studies show 50-89% of people diagnosed with Parkinson’s experience speech and voice disorders as a result of the disease. HAPS speech classes offer a group setting which provides a supportive environment within which to practice and carry over communication skills.

The classes help individuals with PD increase self-awareness about their speech and voice sound through feedback from the instructor and other group members. Participants benefit from ongoing education about the effects of PD on speech and swallowing, learn compensatory strategies to maximize communication effectiveness, and practice voice and speech treatment techniques for improving breath support, articulation and voice quality.

Weekly speech classes meet in-person and virtually.
