Research is the building block for increasing our understanding of Parkinson’s. It is a critical part of improving our ability to treat, manage, and live with the disease. In collaboration with our Medical Advisory Board, HAPS hosted our first Research Fair for our community in October 2023. More than one hundred participants heard from local experts and researchers, learned more about current and future research taking place in our area, and found out how science is advancing in the field of Parkinson’s disease. The day included opportunities for panelists to share their experiences as research participants and the benefits of participating in Parkinson’s research, and time to talk to local research coordinators about available trials taking place at their institutions.
Thanks to research teams from Baylor, Houston Methodist, UT, the VA, as well as others, who join this year’s Research Fair and contributed to a well-balanced and collaborative program.
