Eat, Drink & Be Charitable
Special events have been vital to Houston Area Parkinson Society fundraising since it was founded in 1974 and began raising funds to develop and implement programs and services and support families living with Parkinson’s disease.
Friends and family gather each year for an evening of entertainment, dinner, great enthusiasm, and a shared mission at the Eat, Drink & Be Charitable gala. This event is our largest fundraising event of the year, providing essential funds that allow HAPS to offer free services and programs to the local Parkinson’s community.
The 2022 event chairs and good friends, Erin Pikoff and Doug Dawson invite you to this year’s fun-filled evening in support of HAPS. Join us at Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District for scrumptious food, specialty cocktails, and spectacular giving! So, let’s eat, drink and be charitable! Special thanks to Ahmad, Zavitsanos and Mensing, P.C., for underwriting the cocktail reception and to Gloria Hui, MD and Joiner Cartwright, Jr., PhD, for underwriting the specialty chocolates.

A note from this year’s event chairs
As this year’s co-chairs of Houston Area Parkinson Society’s Eat, Drink & Be Charitable, our goal is to increase awareness and services that support the Parkinson community. We are planning a fun, yet meaningful evening and would love for you to join us as an underwriter.
My family was first introduced to Parkinson’s through my grandmother, Bernice, who lived with the disease for many years. Then in 2016, I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s. That was a life changing event. Parkinson’s disease is much more than just a movement disorder, it is a degenerative neurological disease that touches all aspects of life, not only for those affected, but also their families. As a young working mother of two, I had to retire early from a career I loved and search for a new purpose. I am happy to say I found it and now serve on the HAPS Advisory Board. I am proud to stand alongside my good friend Doug as co-chair of this amazing event.
I have several good friends, like Erin, who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The amazing programs and groups that HAPS provides has made a profound difference in the lives affected by this disease. I have seen how complex and challenging Parkinson’s is and like Erin, I feel driven to help and to do something about it.
We look forward to you joining us for this gala and more importantly to being a part of something greater.
