An unplanned pregnancy can be one of life's most difficult experiences. Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, when you’re not sure that you are ready to be a parent, can be confusing and stressful. There are no easy choices, nor are there right or wrong choices. But there are options - and you don’t have to face this situation alone.
We believe that anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy should understand all the choices available. We know you will need support and understanding throughout this complex and emotional process. The caring and professional social workers at HAPS can provide options counseling to individuals and families which will help to explore your options and make the best informed decision for you and your baby. Our counseling and support services are confidential, and available free of charge to you and any family member that you wish to involve in your adoption plan.
Should adoption be your choice, we can help you make a plan for your child. Adoption is a loving alternative to parenting. We have been involved with all aspects of adoption since 1982. We offer birth mothers ongoing support and options counseling.
If a birthparent’s choice is to place their child with a loving adoptive family, we can provide you with the following services:
You will have the ability to choose the family that you want to raise your child from our approved waiting families.
You can choose either an open, semi-open adoption or a traditional (closed) adoption.
You can receive letters and pictures each year.
HAPS will place your child directly with adoptive parents, not in foster care.
